The Monte Cassino Commemorative Cross was awarded to all soldiers of the Polish 2nd Corps who fought in the battle of Monte Cassino (January–May 1944) & also in the battles for Piedimonte and Passo Corno, Italy
Each Polish soldier who took part in the battle was awarded the Monte Cassino & a total of 48,498 crosses (officially numbered 1 to 48,498) were issued
A list of all the Monte Cassino Cross recipients is held at the Polish Institute & Sikorski Museum in London, but we have not checked this.
