Son of James Armstrong Wilding & Sarah Wilding (nee Wolfe)

Educated at Christs College, Finchley & the City of London School, London EC
A pre-war Motor Cyclist, he joined the Royal Naval Air Service as Petty Officer Mechanic (F.4052) in April 1915 & saw service in Belgium with Armoured Cars
Commissioned 2nd Lieutenant, The King's Own (Royal Lancaster Regiment) 12/10/15
Returned to France in early 1916 to serve with 1st Royal Lancaster Regt
KIA Somme 20/12/16 aged just 18
Note: Both 2nd Lieut Wilding & 2nd Lieut Robert Aubrey Hildyard (Battalion Signalling Officer) were killed in a dug out at Fregicout by the same shell
Buried in Peronne Road Cemetry, Maricourt, Somme
Commemorated in the UK on the City of London School War Memorial, Queen Victoria Street, London EC4 & on Christs College War Memorial, Finchley
