Note: This London unit was originally created as the 23rd Middlesex (Inns of Court) Rifle Volunteer Corps in 1859. It was renamed the 14th Middlesex (Inns of Court) Rifle Volunteer Corps in 1889 & then formed part of the 2nd London Volunteer Brigade. This unit provided the City Imperial Volunteers (C.I.V.) with a contingent of 30 Mounted Infantry, 19 cyclists & a signaller for service in during the Boer War & earned the Battle Honour 'South Africa 1900-1901'
