RICHARD HOYLE
Born Plymouth 1879
Son of William Hoyle & Catherine Hoyle (nee Hopper)
In the 1881 Census he was living at 24 Lower Street, Plymouth with his mother (the wife of a seaman) & his younger brother (William James Cleverton Hoyle)
Fined for being Drunk & Disorderly in Plymouth 1904
In 1911 he was serving as Cook on the British steamer SS 'Marden' (Note: Sunk in WW1 by gunfire from U-Boat UB36 16/4/17)
Continued to serve in the Mercantile Marine (Merchant Navy) during WW1
Died Plymouth 1938
With copy of his Board of Trade Mercantile Marine card & printed research documentation
