Frederick William Forder
Born Melbourne, Victoria 1880
A pre-war Fireman, he enlisted at Charlesville, Queensland 19/2/15
Embarked on HMT Aeneas 29/6/15 to serve at Gallipoli 1915, Egypt & then in France 1916
Wounded in his Right Eye on the Somme 19/7/16 & was admitted to 1st N.Z.Stationary Hospital & then to the 18th General Hospital in Amiens
Rejoined his unit in August 1916 but developed bursitis of the knee & was sent to hospital in England in December 1916
He went AWOL during his convalescence 17-20/1/17 & was awarded 28 days Field Punishment No.2
After leaving hospital he qualified as an Assistant Signalling Instructor at the Southern Signal School, Weymouth in June 1917
Returned to France in October 1917
Admitted to 20th CCS with mild epilepsy 12/4/18, returned to Blighty 18/4/18 & was treated at the General Military Hospital, Colchester
He then married his cousin, Edith Hobbins at St Alphege Church, Solihull 5/6/18
Returned to Australia without her 17/2/19 & was discharged in Sydney NSW 15/4/19
He collapsed & died in Brisbane Military Hospital 10/6/30
