Suffered a Gun Shot Wound in his face & was admitted to 2nd General Hospital 14/5/15
Note: During the Second Battle of Ypres the 1st East Lancs came under heavy shellfire & an infantry attack on their trenches north of Wieltje, then took part in fighting at Shell Trap Farm 13-14/5/15. This moated position was later renamed 'Mousetrap Farm' for understandable morale reasons & still exists
Returned to Blighty in H.M.Hospital Ship Asturias
Transferred to 2nd Royal Dublin Fusiliers (23097)
Later transferred back into the East Lancashire Regt & joined the 2nd Battalion
To 'Section B' Army Reserve 26/2/19
With copies of his Medal Index Card & 4 Medal Rolls
