Wounded in his head & left leg when taken POW of War 27/12/15... but possibly much earlier in 1914?
Note: The International Committee of the Red Cross records that he was taken POW 28/8/14 at St.Quentin & Paul Nixon's 'Army Service Numbers' website also records him as a PoW before Christmas 1914 when he was selected as a recipient of Princess Mary's Gift Tin. The 2nd KOYLI first landed in France 16/8/14 so his 11/11/14 arrival date as recorded on his Medal Index Card & Medal Roll may be erroneous
Held at Soltau, Hameln (Hamelin) & Clausthal POW Camps in Germany
Repatriated from Germany to England on SS 'Willochra' 18/11/18
