Note: Broadclyst was known as the 'yellow' village, 5 miles NE of Exeter, that rose from the ashes of a devastating fire 4/5/1870
Enlisted 2/6/01, served in South Africa & was entitled to the QSA with 4 Clasps (CC, OFS,TRANS, SA02)
Deserted & tried by District Court Martial 1903 - his QSA was forfeited but later restored
Qualified as a Marksman, a Machine Gunner, a Mounted Infantryman & a Garrison Policeman
To Reserve 1/6/10
To France 21/9/14 & qualified for the Aug-Nov 1914 Clasp
Wounded by a Shell & returned to Blighty 28/7/15
His left leg was amputated & he was discharged Medically Unfit 4/10/15
With copy of his Medal Index Card, Silver War Badge Roll & 32 page Digital File of his Soldiers Papers
