KIA F&F 27/4/15 during the Battle of St.Julien, 2nd Battle of Ypres
Note: The Germans launched an attack preceded by poison gas at Ypres on 22/4/15. The 1/4th Londons force-marched towards the Ypres Salient and went into the firing line North East of Ypres on 26/4/15. The following day the battalion attacked across Buffs Road & Admirals Road towards Oblong Farm, came under fire as it crossed the crest line and suffered heavy casualties in the valley beyond. This action, the 1/4th Londons' first attack of WW1, cost 3 Officers & 32 Other Ranks killed plus a further 149 either wounded or missing
