To France 11/5/15 with 11th Royal Scots (Lothian Regiment) - a Kitchener's K1 Battalion
Shot through the head 7/6/16 & returned to Blighty
Admitted to 1/5th Northern General Hospital Leicester 29/6/17 & was still in hospital at Leicester in Nov 1917 with a severe head wound
Discharged 30/1/18
He was then a Fish Restaurateur at 173 Rosslyn Street, Kirkcaldy, Fife, Scotland until WW2
Despite his serious head wound, he lived 85 years & died in Kirkcaldy1980
