Educated at Framlingham College 1904-08, where he was a Sub-Prefect, a member of the Shooting VIII & the Cricket XI

Admitted to the Honourable Artillery Company 5/9/14
To France 23/1/15 & served with on the Western Front with the 1st H.A.C.
Commissioned 2nd Lieutenant, 2nd London Brigade RFA 18/8/15
Whilst serving with 'B' Battery, 291st Brigade RFA in Ecoust Valley, Bullecourt he was severely wounded 15/4/17
The following day he DOW F&F 16/4/17
Buried in St. Sever Cemetery, Rouen
His CWGC Headstone is inscribed: 'HIS BODY TO THAT PLEASANT COUNTRY'S EARTH AND HIS PURE SOUL UNTO HIS CAPTAIN CHRIST'
