Joined the Royal Navy as a Cooper, 2nd Class 18/10/1894
Served on the Battlecruiser HMS INDEFATIGABLE from 1/2/13 until 31/5/16
KIA North Sea 31/5/16 in the Battle of Jutland when HMS Indefatigable was hit by 2 or 3 shells from the German Battlecruiser SMS Von der Tann at 16:00 hours. She started sinking towards the stern but after more hits her magazines exploded at 16:03 hours & blew the ship in half - only 3 of her 1,019 crew survived. For more details - Click here
