Note: Although he served as 'John Robert Anstiss' his name at birth was actually 'Robert John Anstiss', as confirmed by his son in 1924 on the 'Final Verification Form'. Therefore in 2025 the CWGC advised: 'As we continue to uphold the decisions made by the next of kin at the time, we are unable to make an amendment here'. However, the CWGC did correct his service number on the headstone from 14377 to 14877
