Son of James & Ellen Marsh of 200 High Street, Cheriton, Folkestone
Originally served overseas with 9th East Surrey Regt
Later renumbered 41174 & transferred to 7th Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers
Badly wounded in his thigh during the 7th Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers' attack on Beck House & Delva Farm, Ypres Salient, & was taken Prisoner 16/8/17
As a German POW he was sent to Abteilung F, Reservelazarett III, Hamburg for advanced treatment

Buried in Hamburg Cemetery.
