Served with 33 Squadron RFC
Note: 33 Squadron was formed 12/1/16 & headquartered at Gainsborough, Lincolnshire with its 3 flights based at Scampton, Kirton-in-Lindsey & Elsham Wolds. It was originally equipped with Royal Aircraft Factory BE.2s & employed for Home Defence against German airship raids over northern England. These BE.2s were supplemented with Royal Aircraft Factory FE.2s & were later replaced by Bristol Fighters in June 1918, then by night fighter Avro 504s in August 1918. Despite a number of interceptions 33 Squadron did not destroy any enemy airships & it was disbanded in June 1919
