Twice Mentioned in Despatches (MID LG 4/1/17 & MID LG 18/5/17)
Awarded the Distinguished Service Order (DSO LG 4/6/17)
Apparently he was wounded twice, the 2nd time severely
Retired 1918 & was entitled to a Silver War Badge
His address in 1919 was Claremont, Somerset Road, Edgebaston, Birmingham
Post-war he was director of many companies & the Managing Director of Ellerman Property Trust Ltd, worth £40 million in the 1930s... that's £2.5 billion today!
Knighted by His Majesty George VI at Buckingham Palace 11/6/37 'For public and philanthropic services' (Coronation Honours LG 11/5/37)
His grant of arms featured 3 red cockerels - perhaps a visual pun on his name?
Died suddenly 16/2/39
