A pre-1908 Volunteer who transferred to the 3rd County of London Yeomanry (Sharpshooters) upon the formation of the new Territorial Force
His medal was announced in Army Orders of December 1908 and was one of just 27 EviiR TFEMs awarded to this unit
Note: Appears to be related to Herbert Reginald Tautz, a tailor from Harlesden, London N.W. and could just be the same man... H.R.Tautz served in 18th Middlesex Rifle Corps (Paddington Rifles) until 1898, 4th Middlesex until 1901 & then the 3rd County of London Yeomanry (Sharpshooters) until 17/3/10. He re-enlisted in 1916 into the ASC, served in France 21/6/16 to 14/12/16 & was then sent to Salonika with 685th M.T.Coy, attached 60th Ammunition Sub-Park. Later transferred to the Labour Corps & remained there until 22/2/19
