Worked as a Farrier's Assistant & Blacksmith
Originally attested in the Rifle Brigade (Militia) 17/2/02
Then joined the RAMC 18/5/03
Transferred to 2nd Manchester Regiment 24/9/03
To France 30/8/14 & qualified for the Aug-Nov 1914 Clasp
Suffered a Gun Shot Wound in his right hand 21/10/14 & then a serious shrapnel wound in his thigh 23/10/14
Sent back to Blighty 1/11/14
Went back out to France 8/7/15
Discharged, Termination of Engagement 19/5/16
Subsequently he appears to have re-enlisted in the Royal Field Artillery, thus erroneously qualifying for the pair
Note: His first MIC reveals that the 'Manchester Regt.' pair was returned in 1923
In September 1939 he lived at 6 Vanguard Street, Deptford, London & was employed as a Trenchman (Heavy Worker) by the Metroplitan Water Board
Died Deptford 1946
With copy of 2 x MICs, 16 page Digital File of his Soldiers Papers, Medal Rolls, Silver War Badge Roll & supporting documentation
