Daughter of Charles Thomas Watson & Mary Watson
Lived at Roslyn House, Hartlepool, County Durham
Qualified as a Certified Nurse at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Newcastle-on-Tyne from 1907-10
To France 6/10/14 & served as a British Red Cross Society Nursing Sister with Paris Unit No.5
Then worked as Theatre Sister attached 13th Stationary Hospital until February 1915
Note: The 13th Stationary Hospital opened in October 1914 on the Boulogne docks where it became the main specialist unit for treatment of eye, face & jaw injuries
She terminated her service with the British Red Cross Society 4/3/15
Transferred to the Queen Alexandra's Imperial Military Nursing Service Reserve & then continued to serve as Sister, Q.A.I.M.N.S.R. on the Western Front for the duration of the war
After the Armistice, she served with 30th C.C.S. with the Army of the Rhine until discharged 9/2/21
Her Medal Index Card shows 'Emblems' - the London Gazette details for her M.I.D. may relate to A/Sister J.F.Watson MID LG 29/5/17
She became one of the earliest State Registered Nurses 3/2/22 (No.1888)
In 1943 she was still on the Register of Certified Nurses, living at 8 The Parade, Harrogate, Yorkshire
With copy of her MIC, Medal Rolls & 28 page Digital File of her QAIMNSR Papers, plus supporting documentation
