To France 21/8/14 as an odd man, because the 13th Hussars did not qualify for the 1914 Star as a unit
To Mesopotamia 27/6/16
Following a night march south of Kut, 'D' Squadron conducted an early morning reconnaissance of the Hai Stream near Atab & were attacked by a mixed force of Turks & Arabs. The 13th Hussars lost 5 horses & 3 men wounded in this skirmish, including Pte Hopkins who suffered a Gun Shot Wound to his chest 14/12/16
He was evacuated to 32 British General Hospital in Amara, then to 3 British General Hospital at Basra 26/12/16 & Hospital Ship 'Nevasa, finally arriving in Bombay 11/1/17
Transferred to Class Z Army Reserve 1/5/19 & was entitled to a Silver War Badge
His home address was 131 Victoria Road, Bedminster, Bristol
With copy of his MIC, a 9 page Digital File of his Soldiers Papers plus his Pension Card
