Enlisted in the Royal Munster Fusiliers 1889


Promoted Serjeant 1895


Transferred to the 4th Middlesex Regt & promoted Colour Serjeant 1900


To South Africa and served in the Boer War with the Middlesex Mounted Infantry Company 29/3/01 until 1/9/02


Mentioned in Despatches by Lord Kitchener in London Gazette 29/7/02


Awarded his Army LS&GC Medal in Army Orders of 1905


Left the 8th Middlesex Regt in 1912 to live at 262 Bath Road, Hounslow, Middlesex and worked as a Bar Steward


He re-enlisted as a Colour Serjeant in the Middlesex Regt 7/5/15


Promoted Warrant Officer Class 2 & Regimental Quarter Master Serjeant 25/6/15


To France 5/6/16 and served on the Western Front until 18/10/17


Transferred to the School of Aeronautics at Bath, part of the newly formed Royal Air Force, as Sergeant Major 1/4/18 & was renumbered 185032


Mentioned for valuable servicesrendered in connection with the war in Air Ministry Gazette of 22/1/19 and this was also reported in The Times


Discharged 22/8/19 as no longer physically fit for war service & was entitled to the Silver War Badge


In the 1939 Register he was a Chef Steward living at 4-6 St Marys Road, Ealing, Middlesex


Died at Isleworth, Middlesex 1950
