Wounded F&F 9/12/16

Awarded MM for his Bravery at Hill 70, Fosse 10, Loos on 24/9/17:

'For courageous conduct when in charge of a bombing section in an advanced post on Aug 18th 1917. His post was 80 yards in front of our newly won ground in a very exposed position and subjected to an extremely heavy enemy rifle, Machine Gun and shell-fire. By his own splendid example, he instilled his men with doggedness and held the ground for 48 hours until relieved.'
