To France 31/8/14 & served as a Trooper with the 9th Lancers for 7 months
Note: A week later, on 7/9/14, the 9th Lancers took part in the historic last 'Lance-on-Lance' cavalry charge of the British Army at Montcel à Frétoy, when Lt.Col David Campbell led a charge of 2 troops of 'B' Squadron & overthrew a squadron of 1st Prussian Dragoon Guards.
Post-WW1 he lived at 51 Pepler Road, Old Kent Road, Peckham, London SE
Moved to 45 Henry Street, Rochester
Died Rochester 24/7/57
Buried in Woodlands Road Cemetery, Gillingham, Kent
