Pre-war he was a Stockbrokers clerk with Wilson & Lambie of St.Vincents Place, Glasgow
To Gallipoli 2/7/15 with 1/6th (City of Glasgow) Battalion, Highland Light Infantry T.F., part of 52nd (Lowland) Division
Later selected to attend Officer Cadet School in the UK & was commissioned 2nd Lieutenant 25/10/16
Posted to 17th HLI
KIA F&F 14/4/17 during their attack on Fayet, St.Quentin
A brother officer wrote 'He fell at the head of his men, leading them to victory'
He is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial, Somme
His Officers Papers exist at TNA but we have not checked them; Ref: WO 374/44354
